Meet Cari

Owner, Licensed Property Manager (she/her)

Hi, I’m Cari Sweet. I’ve had more careers than most people would expect a Millennial to have. I’ve also been a renter for my entire adult life—and I’ve seen it all. I’ve had personal experiences with large, greedy rental corporations and well-meaning individuals with limited experience. Unfortunately, both can be harmful to tenants.

In 2017, in addition to running my organizing & moving business Jane Organizes, I began working for a local property management company. They were doing a lot of things right: 24/7 phone support, speedy maintenance, personalized service. But their screening requirements were so stringent that even I didn’t qualify to rent from them!

At the end of the day, I didn’t feel like I was helping people. When the pandemic started, I knew I wanted to reinvent the way this was done. So, I created my own proprietary screening system to give good people a fighting chance at housing, and included all the important tasks in a flat rate without any surprise fees. In 2021, Peace by Lease was born.

When I’m not working, I try to enjoy the beauty of the PNW by camping and hiking throughout Oregon and Washington. I rarely miss a seasonal tasting at Salt and Straw! My dog, Luna, is a regular feature on my social media channels and a wonderful companion in my PNW adventures.

Happy to Help

We donate monthly to the Equitable Giving Circle, because we believe that it’s important to support the boots already on the ground, working hard to provide for their communities.
